My dad and my sister both hate cilantro. My mom is cilatro-neutral. My dad and make soap for a living, and both maintain that cilantro tastes like soap. So there you have it. My dad's expert opinion is that there is an aldehyde called 'soapanine' or something that accounts for the bitter taste.
