Are you kidding?!! It smelled so bad, it never made it to my mouth!
Most Hated Cilantro-Containing Food:
Don't know. Don't WANT to know!
Do people in your family hate cilantro, too? Who?
Don't know, but will be doing some research. Is it genetic?
If cilantro were a historical malevolent dictator, who would it be? Why?
Barack Hussein Obama. Because he doesn't belong there and is ruining a great country just like cilantro doesn't belong in my food and ruins every bit of it.
My cilantro story, first experience, recent anecdote, rant, etc...
There I was - 56 - and never encountered cilantro until last year! Last summer I was buying herbs for my herb garden. I decided to try cilantro, since I was hearing so much about how good it was. Went to Lowes and bought some. I don't know why the smell did not hit me right away. Maybe my husband was the one who carried it to the car. I started to smell this vile odor in my car on the way home. Didn't know where it was coming from. It never occurred to me that it could be those two innocent plants sitting in my back seat. Later, when I went to plant them, I was hit with the horrible, vile odor! I asked my husband to smell them. He said they smelled fine. I couldn't believe it! HOW could he miss the foul stench emanating from them?!! I went ahead an planted one in a pot, but was almost gagging as I did so! I took the other one and dropped it in the garbage. I was so revolted! I couldn't get the stench off of my hands. The other one I just let die in the pot. GAG!! Don't ask me about the taste - I never got the chance to try it. I'd never let that garbage near my mouth! It should be banned! I'm so glad I found this group. I thought I was nuts! I am again planning my garden and told my husband I wouldn't be buying cilantro this year. Went on the internet to see if anybody else hated it - and I found this site! I'm so happy to be in the company of others who understand!
More about me:
The only other food I hate as much as cilantro is bleu cheese.
