When I was a teenager, I used to eat thai regularly, and I loved it. Up until something changed in the ingredients of my favourite dish, and it almost ruined thai food for me for life.
For ages I couldn't figure out what the heck was ruining my meal. Like others have said, it's an appalling soapy taste that makes you want to rinse your mouth out. I never suspected the bits of green leaf sprinkled over my garlic pepper chicken was the culprit.
I'd like to find out just who on earth told people that this was an acceptable and enjoyable ingredient for otherwise delicious dishes! It ruins everything! Honestly, do people who use cilantro not know how it tastes? Like something a cat consumed and then regurgitated? I thought I was going mad and that something had died in my meal. STOP CILANTRO NOW.
