If cilantro were a historical malevolent dictator, who would it be? Why?
My cilantro story, first experience, recent anecdote, rant, etc...
Click to read and comment on my story! I've known and disliked cilantro for as long as I can remember. Where I used to live as a child, cilantro is as common as salt and pepper; people who give it a second thought, however, as non-existent.
It wasn't til I moved to a different continent that I've found its name and decided to avoid its occurances to go anywhere near my mouth or nose.
In chinese, it is better known as "xian tsai" (litterally: good-smelling veggy; oh the irony!).
And it is a transparent word in french, cilantro (pronounced: see-len-throe).
As for the taste/smell, I can hardly begin to compare or describe it; there is nothing that tastes quite like it.
Its effects on me are instantly repelling and even slightly nauseating.
