There's an Indian food chain abouts where I live called Nawab, where me and my fiance dine frequently. Recently we went there and I decided instead of the usual meaty appetizer I'd get a salad. The salad they had featured was described in the menu as 'chopped cucumbers, onions and tomatoes in a classic tangy Indian dressing'. I likes me some cucumbers, so I ordered it. When it arrived, it was completely inundated in cilantro. Just...just so much cilantro. Like the cook grabbed a big ol' handful and threw it in there. I tried to eat around it, but even the cucumbers tasted like dish soap.
Then when we got the meal, our dishes were infused with the demon herb as well. Fortunately, the sauce masked most of the taste, so the whole meal wasn't totally ruined.
We've eaten there a dozen times, and this is the first time it's happened. But that doesn't matter; from now on I'm always going so end my orders with '-and no cilantro.'
