I first encountered cilantro at a Thai restaurant in 1998. I was like, there is some really weird flavor in here, I don't like it, but I don't know what it is. After picking through the dish and consulting the waitstaff, we determined it was cilantro. Life went on without incident until 5 years ago when we moved to Houston TX. Every stupid Tex Mex restaurant throws cilantro on everything. Also the Indian and Thai places too. So I always have to say NO CILANTRO. My husband makes fun of me and claims he doesnt like things like parsley. Whatever, it does not compare to the revulsion I have for cilantro. It only got worse when I was pregnant and a Mexican restaurant mishap literally caused nausea.
Incidentally, I have a complete aversion to tomatoes also? Is that common?
