This vile plant. What an abomination.
I had encountered the taste randomly on two or three occasions. The first time I discovered it as. Corriander/cilantro was at Jami Olivers cooking class. We made chicken fajitas, the salsa used corriander and I was so excited to cook and eat it. That was, until I actually had some. I nearly threw up in front of everyone. Foul foul foul. I am not a picky eater by any means, I'll eat most food to the point of over eating. Nope not this meal I cooked with a group of people. I took mine home greatly enjoyed and finished the chicken part but had to sadly throw out the salsa. I HATE throwing food out and would normally stomach something if it was unpleasant but not this. The taste is far worse than soap or metal. It is an overwhelmingly poisonous taste that lingers for a long time. Nasty.
